Aftermarket M Sport Kit
My vendor just hit me up last night about Aftermarket M Sport Kit for F15 X5.
Material is Polyurethane. Fitment, the manufacturer said it is spot on, but I won't say so until I tested it. So, with this thread, I would like to gauge what is the demand on this kit. I know that some of you really loves the M Sport but couldn't resist the deal that was available at the time. Or, hate the M Sport but after owning the car and when saw the M Sport, you felt that you should've gone with the M Sport. Anyway, your input and help is greatly appreciated. And if any of you interested, I am still working out on the price and shipping cost. The manufacturer's MOQ is 10 sets. With that said, if I can get 10 ppl interested, I can work out a special deal on the first 10 sets. Ben @ RG Sport

If only 1 or 2 ppl interested, then the price wouldn't matter at all. Is not that I am trying to hide the price, it is just the price is not even set yet.

I think it would need to be less than what the M Sport uptick was from BMW (drawing a blank), but lots more comes with that package than just the facias. I'll leave the non-M Sport guys to comment on this.

i would not go for the entire kit, but would cherry pick bits n pieces, for instance i would go for the arches, and probably the front bumper parts (inc a front lip/spoiler) and possibly the side skirts, but definitely wouldnt go for the rear bumper as I can't be stuffed getting a new exhaust/muffler system too.
It does come down to price though. |

If that is so, then you don't need to get a new muffler. Just chop of the non M tip and replace with the aftermarket M Sport muffler tip.

Maybe not the entire kit...
But definitely I can buy the complete front bumper if can fit in cars with surround view...but Why not to incorporate into that kit the F85 rear bumper and tips as an option?

My car will come with the "Pure Experience" trim, kind of the XLine from the US, with 20" wheels, so the wheel arches are the extended ones, also my car will come with side steps, for me the most gain of the M SPort package are the bumpers and the exhaust tips

Thanks, can you explain the main difference (if there is one) of the MSport wheel arches against the XLine ones? never had the chance to compare them....
And for the exhaust tips, how difficult is to remove the stock ones and install the M tips

All just a picture. Exhaust tips should be just cut and weld. Wheel arches, OEM wise, it is the same between M Sport and X-Line.

Ben, this is a great product for anyone who wants the m Sport look, without the cost. The package offered by BMW, which I have, is by and large cosmetic. Having this package leaves its buyer with only four discernible differences:
1) Sports steering wheel 2) Paddle shifters 3) Sports+ Transmission, which is not hardware, rather a software setting that can be coded. In Europe Sport+ is offered any most BMWs, including the F15 25d as a EUR299 option, without the paddles. 4) "M" logo (wheels, keys, etc.) I see your potential product as truly viable for those who want the look of the m Sport without the cost. Best of luck. |

I do like the M-sport, but I like my running boards and I have a cooler on the passenger side, so I imagine I would need an open grill on that side. I also already have the wide wheel flares since I have 20" wheels. Finally I like my upside down trapezoid tips
Just wondering if there can variations of this kit? And I'm guessing these pieces would all need to be painted? |

N63B44TU, there is an oil cooler on the passenger side, so I would need holes at least.

My car is also coming with running boards, I think I will wait for the car to arrive and then decide if it's really worth it to convert it into a MSport

X-line wheel arches are not painted in body color, just black plastic molding color. If you got a lux line with 20" stock you would get painted wheel arches, however, same as m-sport.

No pricing yet for a kit, I am still looking at the poll. Looks like it is not promising as I thought.
Even if there is a lot of demand, the other problem would be shipping. Based on the dimension given by the manufacturer, Greyhound (as the cheapest shipping option) couldn't handle the package. That left us only with trucking, and trucking is not cheap when it goes to residential delivery. Quote:

And yes again, these pieces would need to be painted. Again, no pricing yet since this thread is just a poll trying to gauge the market. IMHO, this kit much easier to sell to overseas than here in the states as the car over here is cheap enough to just sell and get the one that you wanted. The amount of loss is still a fraction of what outside US car owners have to bear since the price of the car is averaged at twice or triple the US car prices.
