Pricing on new m3/m4 leases

I am looking to lease a new m3/m4 lease brand new not a used lease or anything..

I live here in SoCal I wanna put maybe nothing down if the payment can be under 800.

Any specific salesman + dealerships I should be thinking about here in SoCal?

What kind of deals are everybody getting around that price I'm taking about.

$0 down and $800 a month kind of sounds crazy. Don't think anyone has a deal like that but I could be wrong.

Allocations are pretty non existent and getting a good deal isn't easy, in CA. But with the current incentives you could possibly get up getting an M3 at invoice after incentives. You'd be looking for a 10k miles lease on a $70,000 msrp M3 purchased at invoice ($65100). That will give you an $813.82 per month payment. No money down, no MSDs, all fees paid up front. I hope you didn't want a lot of options.

A stripped M3 with no options except metallic paint is $64, 745 (including Destination and Handling) If you pay the DMV and DOC fee as well as your first payment at delivery, your out the door is about $1,946 and then your looking at $946 a month. This is for 36 months at 10,000 miles a year. When you include the December incentives ($1,500) that knocks things down to $1,898 due at signing and then $898 a month.

Your not going to find a new M car for less than $800 a month with nothing down. Currently, you'd be hard pressed to find an M3 in California for less than MSRP because they are in short supply. I was just at a dealer in Buena Park and they have a single M3 for sale. MSRP is $71,405 and they are asking $81,405. If they hold out long enough, they will probably get it.

Did you assume any money off? Your numbers seem off. A $65k M3 that you get for $63k (I assume this is not too difficult) minus $1,500 rebates at 10k miles per year in not $900. It's more like $800 with 2k out of pocket (1st month and fees). Plus you can do MSDs and get that down $50/month.

I should add in NY we pay tax only on the portion we use. Not sure if California is different.

Think this depends on your sales tax. I'm in OR and don't have one. Will be paying 925 a month for 12k on an 80k MSRP with zero down. Just paying all fees upfront with first month. So a stripped down model with little to no sales tax and 10k should be doable for under 800.

That markup They'll sell it to a sucker for a "steal" at only $5000 markup.

California sales tax (Los Angeles County) is 9.75%. I did the figures without MSDs because he said he didn't want to put anything down so I assume he is not interested in MSDs.

I'm still not getting that. 62% residual right? 65k msrp, 63k purchase minus an additional $1500 rebate. Not getting $900 with fees and 1st payment up front.

Madness.

I got my M3 in CA through Costco. Yep, a Costco M3. Flat Invoice + $$$ pricing before incentives. Got my allocation pretty quick too.

In the Bay Area our BMW dealers are spoiled by the moronic tech workers with more signing bonus money than sense who pay sticker without blinking.

HBO's "Silicon Valley" is satire, and like any good satire it contains an element of truth.

You're correct. I had the wrong Money Factor left in from another post. With a MF of .00131 I get a monthly payment of $852

You are still using MSRP. Now assume with basic negotiating skills he can get 2-3k off MSRP which would net another $30 for each $1,000 negotiated. So take $90 off your figure if he gets $3k.

MSDs will also save you another $50/month (approx) but you need to lend bmw 7x your monthly payment rounded up. I would use them if your state allows it (NY does not so I buy out of state) as you get the money back anyway.

You should be a bit over $710/month with rolling in taxes and using MSDs. Up front you pay only 1st months payment (say $710), fees (around $1,400), and your MSDs (7 x $750). So your handing over $7.5k but $5.35k of that comes back to you in 3 years.

Things that effect the above:

1. More options. If you add $5k options (which would be a $70k car - this gets you 19" wheels, adaptive suspension, metallic paint, executive package but not DCT) then figure an add of $65/month
2. You don't get your car quick enough to get the incentives. Remember the $3k savings above is BEFORE the $1,500 rebate.
3. You don't get $3k off. Figure $30/month more for each $1,000 you can't get.
4. Watch that the dealer doesn't slap on extra fees or that they charge you more than the current base interest rate (money factor). Should be .00131 before the MSDs. MSDs reduce the money factor by .00007 each.
5. You need more than 10k miles per year. In the above example, 12k would be $730 and 15k would be $760.

Good luck!

I used MSRP because the OP is here in Southern California where M3s allocations aren't meeting demand and dealer inventory is being marked up.

Hopefully, he can find a car under MSRP and apply the MSDs.

Which local dealer honored Costco pricing? Was it $500/$1000 over invoice or a lot more?

I think you're missing the fact that he's providing LOCAL feedback to the OP. If their market is starved for inventory then the likelihood of a discount is very low. It's also a bit pointless to work in the theoretical realm at this point. MSRP is a known fixed value.
