Holdup at the VPC

Looks like there is holdup in getting cars processed through the Brunswick VPC. My car was dropped off in GA this past thursday, but my dealer said one of their deliveries has been there since 12 Nov. They couldn't figure out why there's been a delay.

It was probably damaged in shipping or has a delivery hold. Sometimes this info is slow to reach the dealers (especially damage). It's not necessarily an indication of a backlog at the VPC.

My car appears stuck there too. Cleared customs 11/23 but no movement from the VPC. I'm hoping to find out more later today.

Sorry! The work they do is essentially undetectable. If that is the case, I'm pretty sure you'd never be able to find it.

True. I talked to the ED hotline, my car past customs and at the VPC. Possibly getting the 1200 mile service, certainly getting the map updates, etc. Looks like I'm another 10 days out. I can't believe I'm whining now.. but this is getting a bit unbearable

Back in 2012, my ED showed up 2 days before Christmas. I got the grand slam with Christmas AND New Years holidays. It made it to the dealer on the 3rd of January. Overall, I can't complain. I dropped it off in Munich at the end of November.

Double-whammy! My CA actually just wrote me. Based on the system info screen shot he sent, my car is estimated to arrive next week. Feeling much better now...

I've got you all beat. Dropped my car off in Munich on October 2nd. My car arrived in NJ on October 31. Was discharged from the vessel on the 2nd nov.

Was released to carrier (Precision Motor Transport) on Nov 13. It is still not at my dealer in Kansas City.

Correct! Which dealer is your car headed to? My CA tells me to not trust the estimated dates until the car is actually loaded on a truck

Mine may need an extra day at the dealer, upon arrival, to swap out the glove box. When I picked the car up at the Welt, it had a blemish on the leather that my dealer has agreed to replace.

You should get it before then. Is your car scheduled for transport tomorrow? Mine is. I imagine 2-3 days for transportation.

Not to rehash an old thread but I thought it'd better than creating a new on on the same topic.

My car arrived on Dec 28th and cleared customs right thru VPC the same day. Original estimate had dispatch on the 31st and dealer arrival on the 1st which didn't happen. I do have MPE and M Perf Steering Wheel to add at the port.

BMWUSA, BMW Genius and my CA all have no idea when the car is actually going to arrive since the original estimate just isn't updating and no one knows how to get a hold of VPC for more details.

To make things worse, my loan is about to expire so I'll have to reapply which isn't a big deal but a PITA. Is there no way a CA can contact a regional manager to get a hold of the VPC for appropriate status?

I actually don't mind the wait - the pain is not being able to have a legit estimate I can plan around.

There absolutely is, but it unfortunately comes down to who your CA knows to contact.
