Novemberfest Option Credit Confusion-Beware+Help!!
Today I closed on my 2016 M3 at my local dealer. The ED date is Dec 2 and was advised the closing must be done 2 weeks before that date. I was counting on a option credit of $1500 if I choose the 0.09% financing. Due to many factors, and it is very confusing the choice of leasing vs financing, I chose the financing option. Just as I was about to sign the closing documents the dealer informed me that due to the ED, the credits cannot be added together and I was only able to get one $750 credit. If I was to have the delivery in the US then then credits are added together. Needless to say i was very upset over this and did not agree that this offer from BMW was written this way. The dealer agreed to give me the extra $750 credit if I could prove they are wrong.
Does anyone on this forum know the answer and can have proof if they are right or wrong. Appreciate the help. |

The stipulations for Novemberfest say you have to take delivery of the car by November 30. Your ED on Dec 2nd is obviously not November so I suspect that is why they are saying it doesn't apply.

Novemberfest is limited to taking delivery in November only -- it can't be locked for 60-90 days like the build cash can. I'm taking ED in a week, and have both credits $1500 total.
So, the dealer is incorrect in stating it can't be used for ED. But you technically don't qualify anyways if you are taking delivery in Dec. |

just push your ed date further since you cant get a ed date this month. this way if december has better rebates, res, and mf, you can lock it in and take delivery with decembers pricing but if the month is worse, u still have november locked in and that gives you just the 750 optional credit. my bet is that december will be much better than this month. push your ed date further, at this point, you got nothing to lose.

Thank you for your help and ideas. The dealer is telling me now the problem is the delivery date being in December. I guess it makes sense. If December incentives are better i could jump on one of those. I financed the car at the .09%, works out well for me. In 3 yrs she's all mine and no new ones to be had since production stops in 2018. Who knows maybe no more manuals, could be worth a lot at trade in when production resumes. I've been in this situation before many years ago (46) when I owned my first car, 1969 Nova SS 396/375. In 1972 all the muscle cars turned to crap, glad I kept it all these years, worth big bucks now. History has a way of repeating itself. you never know when an era ends.

If his ED is dec 2 then he is taking delivery in november. With ED you are essentially "taking delivery" on paper when you sign/pay for the car. That is in fact, delivery. You just don't physically receive the car until you get it at the WELT.
So, if he is signing the paperwork and paying for the car the week or two before his ED of dec 2, then he IS a november delivery, and thus should be able to apply the credits. |

Maybe I am crazy but:
"As low as 0.90% APR financing for contracts up to 36 months on any new 2016 BMW M3 Sedan model. Rates available from participating dealers to eligible, qualified customers with excellent credit history who meet BMW Financial Services credit requirements. For example, with $0.00 down payment, a retail installment contract on a 2016 BMW M3 Sedan with MSRP of $63,200.00 may be repaid in 24 monthly installments of $2,658.09 or may be repaid in 36 monthly installments of $1,780.02. MSRP excludes tax, title and license. Not all customers will qualify for down payment waiver or lowest rate. Other rates and payment terms available. Subject to availability. Speak to a Client Advisor for details. $750 Novemberfest Adder, $750 Option Credit also available on BMW M3 Sedan. All credits offset MSRP. APR and credits valid through November 30, 2015. Credits may be combined with other offers unless otherwise stated. Qualified rate lock applicants must take delivery within 60 days of initial lock. All 2016 BMW Passenger Cars & Light Trucks come standard with the BMW Maintenance Program for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles whichever comes first and begins on the original in-service date. Refer to the Service and Warranty Information booklet for complete terms, conditions and limitations. Visit your authorized dealer for important details." I know this is not specific to "Novemberfest", but it clearly states applicants must take delivery within 60 days of initial lock.... taking deliver in November is never mentioned. EDIT: My point is that if you go to the deals section and click on M3, this is the text displayed, verbatim. |

Thank you, Thank you for your suggestions. My salesman, who is on my side and agrees that i should get the 2 credits of $750 each, is fighting with the managers to agree that the 2 credits should be combined in my case. When I take delivery at Welt on Dec 2 I guess I could discuss this with the powers at be there. Someone at BMW head office must know how this works. I tried BMW USA customer support and they know nothing and told me to contact my dealer. The vicious circle goes around and around. I need indisputable proof.

But it appears from the language posted above, that you should get BOTH. It mentions nothing about the month of November, and only talks about locking in a deal within 60 days.

Who invents these monthly incentives? How can I contact them to find out exactly the correct interpretation. I should not let the dealer get away with making up their own rules at my expense. Thanks for the help.
