Requests for DIYs
Just thought it would be nice to make a request thread for those things we would like to see DIYs on.
For example, I don't recall seeing a DIY on: Fuel filter replacement. Coil Pack / Spark Plug replacement. Please add more as you think of them.... |

Its pretty easy. I have attached a little picture of what you need to remove to remove the DME's.
Basically remove the plastic Engine cover (just pull up it snaps off). Then remove those items in the picture I have the arrows to. The ECU assembly locks in similar to how the engine plastic cover is. You just pull it off the rubber grommet holes. Do the same for the other side. Make sure you zip-tie those coolant lines up so it doesn't leak everywhere. |

I see a lot of people including myself interested in upgrading/ replacing interior trim pieces just to change things up. If somebody knows where a DIY guide of removing and installing those interior trim pieces that would be very helpful. Thanks!

It is best practice to disconnect the battery. However, I did not and have not had any issues disconnecting them with the battery connected (I have done it multiple times as well).

The wire for the obd can be tucked under the plastic covers where I have the line drawn. UPDATE: Picture with the intake off. Last edited by DATM3; 04-28-2016 at 09:28 AM.. |

The trim pieces are actually pretty easy to remove. Most all of them only push on. Get a credit card or plastic prop tool and stick it between the leather and trim piece. Once you have a little leverage pull against them and they will pop out. After they pop out just disconnect any plugs if the trim has any electronics on them.

On the coolant loss, if careful will a lot drain out (as opposed to not being careful and losing more). How much needs to be topped off (generally) if done carefully? Thanks again!
