Did everyone with a 6MT order it that way rather than buying from dealer inventory?

My lease is up on my E92 M3 pretty soon and Im looking at the new M3/M4's (among some other cars). But I can only find three 6MT in socal that I would buy if they were on the lot.

Im curious how you fellow 6MT got yours? Did you all special order?

Right now Ive only found 3 within 200 miles of me.

1.) F83 vert. Not my thing.
2.) F82 Austin Yellow loaded. Not my thing either. That color is just Not for me.
3.) F82 Black/SO loaded 6MT. Tempting! VERY TEMPTING, but Ive owned jet black and swore I would never do any BMW black again.

Now I have come across a couple no option stripper M4's with manuals. But I would like at least like to have executive, lighting and top down cameras.

So fellow 6MT guys, how did you get yours?

Mine was a CPO. Took me forever to find one too. I didn't want to order one, so CPO worked out great.
They are indeed unicorns, but worth the search.

Everyone that sees the manual, I also have sunroof, thinks it's great!

Good luck and once you pull the trigger you will enjoy it!

Technically, I didn't have to special order my 6MT F80... But My car was only available b/c the person who did special order it backed out of the deal on the day I visited the dealership.

Before that happened, I called about 15 dealers throughout so cal and no one had a 6MT F80 with carbon fiber roof. They all pretty much told me I'd have to wait for 2016 allocations to order.

Thats the plan if I cant find one. But man the wait. It sucks! If I want to go DCT like either car is on almost every lot out there, I can have my car today. I did DCT once. My first E92 M3 was DCT. I was sold on it at first, but within a year I was so bored.

BTW, you are right for holding out on the options you want. My last car was a black 535i and I will not get another black car for at least 10 years. Exec pkg and lighting pkg are great! If I ordered the car myself I would've skipped the exec pkg but I'm finding that the HUD, comfort access and rear view camera are all very handy and well worth the cost.

Custom ordered here! I was lucky enough for my car to go into production the very next day. The wait was still killer though!

I stumbled across mine - right place right time... Custom order backed out - couldn't drive 6MT... I swooped in...

I'm on the mobile app so I just caught that you are in SoCal... Alright so even though there are some laying around they are becoming scarce because word is getting out how good the 6MT is in the f8x...

M4 has higher residuals than M3 so be prepared for that... Why don you call my guy over at Long Beach BMW?? He always hooks it up... give Joey Lee a call, he's always done right by me / friends and family...

I custom ordered mine.
Will be here in 2 weeks, totally worth the wait.
If I'm spending this kind of money I want it to my personal specification.
I'm in SoCal and looked for a 6mt for weeks, all I found was white F83s w/ DCT.

Tried to find one to test drive down here, couldn't find anyone that had a 6MT. Special ordered and did European Delivery, it's an amazing experience.

EuroDeliery......the BEST way to get a new M3. It's an amazing program, and with the savings, the trip is essentially free!

I ordered mine - PCD. 6mt are rare nowadays. Sounds like you're particular on what you want. Find a good dealer with allocations and wait 4-8 weeks and get what you want,

Mine was on a dealers lot (March 15') I was very specific on the options I wanted.

6MT
Lighting
Executive
Driver Assistance Plus
19's
Black Interior
Carbon Roof
Adjustable Suspension

Found one, on a lot... And get this crap... The same dealer had 2 IDENTICAL cars.... Down to the penny.

Wait for it....

They were both BSM.

Last color I wanted (had a 13 328i & a 14 M235i) both BSM.

So, I am an instant gratification person.

I chose BSM again. It's my only car, and couldn't wait 2-3-4 months for another color/build.
