HUD during day time

My HUD seems to go in to a low visibility mode at times. This is noticeable mainly when there is sun light. I've tried to stop the car and restart it to see if that would reset everything but it doesn't. Then all of a sudden it will come back on. Very random to say the least. I tried the HUD brightness setting set to max but that didn't solve the problem either. Before I take it to the dealer I would like to know if others have experienced similar issues.

Are you wearing a set of polarized sunglasses or prescription glasses?

No I wasn't wearing any shades. My Lexus's HUD is very clear and bright even in the sun. Since its coming in and out I'm thinking there's something wrong with the unit.

Mine definitely gets brighter to accomodate for sunny days. The only time I struggle to see it is sitting in traffic behind a white vehicle, as the numbers blend in.

If I recall in the iDrive settings you can adjust both the height and brightness in the HUD. Actually I know that because I did both. Maybe that will help.

I tried playing with those settings but nothing helped (while it was out). Today in the afternoon it was back to normal.
