Status 047 Question

Will an order placed and currently in status 047 AUTOMATICALLY get assigned a prod number when the dealer has an allocation, or will it have to be manually assigned to one when the next round of allocations come out?

I believe the dealer has to do it manually.. that's why some people can be strung along for a bit with allocations given to bigger profit margin buyers.

No. My VIR states "Status: 047- Spec. released-no quota avail", which was created October 15, 2015.

This is my negotiated, written quote for an order that has not been placed yet. I am doing ED sometime in the last week of April 2016. I will not likely place the actual order until next month (December 2015) at the soonest. My CA agreed that I will not put down a deposit until I have an actual Production # and build week. In fact, he stated he currently has 2 F82 allocations for week 51 that he is not offering up to me because it is still early. Because I am not in a hurry, I am perfectly fine with this. I figure he can go ahead and sell those now and I will take a later allocation.

We are targeting a build week sometime towards the end of March.

Yeah, my timeline is a little more open, as my lease isn't up until Spring '16, but I wanted to go ahead and get an order in the system. We were shooting for a Jan/Feb build slot, but it's flexible. I just didn't know when their next allocations come in, if I needed to bug him into assigning one to my build, versus it happening automatically. I don't want it to slip through the cracks and all of a sudden I'm pushing my allocation into April/May.

The dealer will need to physically assign your order in their system to an allocation, it won't happening automatically. Allocations usually come out the month before their scheduled build date, so if you want a Jan/Feb build you will need a Dec/Jan allocation.

That's what I figured, but I had read on another forum that it would be assigned automatically. I'm not sure if Priority 1 Status affects this at all, either...this is the first time I've dealt with an order in this way, as in the past I've always had a prod number when building my car.
