Question regarding build dates

Hey all.

In the process of placing an order for a F80 and as its at the end of the year and I wont receive it till next year I wanted to ensure it is not 2015 but a 2016. So on the build plate in the engine bay I want to avoid having it stamped December 2015. That way it doesn't seem like its a year old. Im thinking about come resale time. Does it even matter?

When does the build date apply. From when they start building or when its all finished at the end of the line. Id like it asap but a 2016 build.

I asked my dealer and he said they can get me a Jan allocation but I wouldn't receive it till March/April.

Is it possible to order now say i want it asap and get it in Jan/Feb with 2016 stamp? Here in Australia even if the build was Dec 2015 the Model year on registration would be 2016 as when it was first registered. So come time to sell I can advertise it as 2016 F80 M3.

They are only producing Model Year 2016 vehicles at this point so I don't think it would matter what is on the plate. You're getting a 2016MY and that's how it will be valued.
