You got to be kidding right. It is going to be in the $150K US range (the early rumor) and I have not even heard Canada will get any allocation.
Even if this is available in Canada, I would imagine very limited # is available and say the price is in the $170K Can $, I would pick a Porsche 911 GT3 any day of the week (add on another $70K or so) |

UK is selling at 100,000 British pounds before VAT. = $155,000 US. As typical, US will always get a price break, therefore, $125,000 US would probably the minimum while Canada is a different story pehaps. |

I expect $160000 + in Canada but it will be wait & see.I have also heard $130-140000 from other sources. But it is not the 1st time that I have bought a car not knowing the final pricing.Canada also tends to have the lowest pricing on German cars when the exchange is factored in.

Factory turn key cars are the way to go.I have instructed & driven way too many "modified" cars that are slower than my stock cars have been on the track over the years and not worth anything in the resale market.

LAAS 2015 - BMW wants $134,200 for the 2016 F82 M4 GTS
The standard M4 starts at $65,400. That means the GTS is just over twice the price of the standard M4. The M4 GTS is going to be rare and offers a very impressive Nurburgring laptime (which BMW has yet to prove or backup) but it is not worth double the price of an M4. The horsepower and torque are bumped but they are bumped through software. That means any M4 owner today can have the same output of the M4 GTS through the aftermarket (and then some) for a fraction of the cost. The GTS is lighter due to the rear seats being pulled and the carbon fiber pieces. These weight saving measures add up to around 200 pounds but we have to see independent weight test numbers. If a current M4 owner wants to ditch weight off their car they have options that will not cost them another $65k. What about the suspension and aerodynamics? These parts can also be sourced in the aftermarket. For someone to pay $134,200 for an M4 GTS if seeking a track car when the Viper ACR exists for almost $20k less they must really, really, really, love BMW and have money to burn. the M4 GTS is not worth the money for what amounts to a standard M4 on steroids. Especially considering it features the exact same turbo engine and anyone can add a solid water/meth injection system to their M3/M4 today for under a grand. With the E92 M3 GTS one could not just take their S65 V8 from 4.0 liters to 4.4 liter as easily as it is to bump power output and add water injection to the M4. |

My M4 listed at about $96000 without CCB's so mid $150000's is not out of line if indeed it is priced at that in Canada.I have a new GT3 RS that is leased out here that lists at $228000 and there will be less GTS's around than that car so the exclusivity should be better down the road but I am not getting this car for future resale but to enjoy driving! Gearhead, congratulations on the upcoming GTS. I don't get all the 'I'd buy a GT3' and 'a modded M4 is faster' comments
To the first comment, not everyone needs a P car badge on front to feel good at night. The GTS is just as capable as the GT3, an outstanding achievement. Not to mention GT3s aren't available new anymore. As to the second comment, a modded 5k Civic may also be faster than a GTS. Who cares? A modded M4's resale value will be lower than a totally stock one in the future as has been proven time and time again. The GTS is all OEM and will increase in value with time, like other limited edition BMWs have. I hope to run into you at a Calabogie track day sometime! |
