I think the steering is really good on the M4. No complaints regarding the feedback. Of course a hydraulic system would be even better, but I don't sweat it

I'd prefer it but it is so vastly better than the electric system in my '13 S4 that I am very pleased. If anyone wants to feel how an electric rack can undermine the entire driving experience of a car, they should take that car for a spin. Notchy, no feel, wandered on the highway, it was legitimately bad. My only point of reference are the new Porsches which I think have it nailed--but its a very marginal difference.
