How many 135i with the "year one of the 1" were made?

I've tried googling and searching but all I find is 1M and 135is results. I have a 135i with m-sport, shadowline and year one engraving and would like to know how many actually exist in the U.S.

I emailed BMW but they told me they are not allowed to tell me that? Why? I don't know.

Any input is appreciated.

It's top secret. If they told you, then they'd have to kill you.

I vaguely remember reading that some MY09s got it too because of left overs, but obviously I can't actually confirm that. One strategy might be to find the e-mail address of the N54 engine creator/1 series designer if you can and e-mail them directly to see if they know. Kind of a crazy idea that most likely won't work, but you never know, occasionally people like that aren't too hard to reach directly.

Can confirm. Mine is MY2009 and it says Year one of the one. It's a late 2008 production.

Same, mine is 2009 but was produced in 2008. Even if US numbers for 2008 is 12,000 like you say, that's still pretty sweet.

Fwiw, my 2008 Canadian 135 did not have the engraving.

Year 1 of the 1ers also got a book that had a certificate that stated the vin number and had the options noted on it. I assume all year 1's received the book.

My 2011 had a lot less rattles and squeaks than my 2008. Just saying.

I'd give you mine, but I think I lost it... and the pen. Love that 1er sketch and book, though. Wish I had a hard copy of the 1M sketch. Pretty, huh? I think my friends Dack and swagon each have a copy. GIVE ME ONE!

Ha what are you on! These cars absolutely had more issues in 2008.

Year one of the 1 was applied to all cars produced during the first calendar year of production. The 1 was more of a 2008 1/2 model, with production around early January. Every car made January 2008 - January 2009 had the starter bezel and the book.

It's a 2008 model. It's not the build date it's the model year, and I guess like was said some leftover bezels got put on some early 2009 models.
I know. A little confused though - you said your 08 did not have it, mine does. Just posting to indicate at least some Canadian cars had it. Not sure what 09 cars has to do with our specific vehicles
