Best ECU/software tune

Hey guys, I know there is a ton of previous posts about this subject and I've read most. But some of the post are dated and maybe obsolete. So I ask, who is most happy with the readiness, reliability and overall functionality of their tune? I'm running ACM test pipes and rpi intake. That's it, no supercharger and stock rear section..thanks everyone for the insight!

99/1 rule, or 98/2 rule.

98% of the tunes are the same, at least I haven't seen any tune that blew other tunes out of the water. 2% difference lies in the customer service, which I think Mike Benvo (BPM), ESS, and Evolve are the top 3 I'd go to. Time to roll the dice.

I have ESS tune, because Tom@EAS ALWAYS provides good service.

Agreed. No experience with ESS, but I'm really happy with what Mike Benvo has done for me!

I wouldn't say that 98% percent of tunes are the same, more like 98% of people can't tell the difference.

I'm sure there are differences in many of the values on all of the different tables, much of that probably translates into very small changes. However an experienced tuner can screw things up and can cause damage to an engine.

I would use Epic. It seems to have the highest hp cars. With some of the others you get mostly butt dynos.

If Evolve is the one in the UK, skip it. The time zone change makes it a pita to work with them. Tune might be fine, but the headache of being able to get fast response or get them on the phone is not worth it.

Consider Epic instead of Evolve.

Am very curious as to why? Interested in Epic tune as well since I have seen a bunch of cars dynoed putting higher hp than most. Plus Randy is a standup guy.

Haven't seen any epic dynos for the E90 platform (know they've been successful with E46)... are there any?

I recall Tom from EAS posted one a while back. Need to search but I could have sworn it was borderline 400..

Right. Most power.

Everything I have read about Randy and Epic over the years has been very positive. He is an enthusiast. Runs a shop. Supports the BMW community.

Not just a tuner making $100 copies of canned tunes and selling them for $1000 a pop. Randy at Epic is the kind of person you want to support and who has the results you want.

Give Tom at European Auto Sport a call. He has dynod more M3's than any other shop in the world. Hundreds...maybe more. And he knows what mods were on each car and he has a good idea about which tunes make the most power and speaks to the owners and gets other feedback about tunes/mods.

NO to Evolve. Maybe I'm the exception but I have a 46M with Evolve Tune. Re-flashed several times. Sent ECM to them, they sent back. Can't get the car to pass emissions. Over it
