EDC question

People say factory struts wear out faster if aftermarket lowering sprigs are used. Since the EDC is constantly sensing and adjusting will it compensate for struts wearing out by gradually giving more adjustments thus we will see that the performance is maintained until the struts fail, or will we experience gradual degradation and softer ride over time? Any insight with how EDC works? I guess even without lowering springs the same question applies...
