I finally have my car home. It was well worth the wait. Shout out to GOLFFRR for letting me know about BMWDavid for a great deal! Steve Thomas BMW has a new customer for life.

Old car, meet new car! Sorry X5 M, you sleep outside from now on.

Out of the weather, but I can't wash her until it warms up.

Headed out to the PC track for some fun. I was the only one in an M car, and did not have to share driving time with anyone.

How much track time did you get, and did you use your own car or a similarly spec'd loaner?

I had an hour of track time, split between the road course/slalom, skidpad, and performance braking. The ride around the track in the M5 was out of this world, my instructor is a pro drifter, so much of it was sideways. I drove on of their M3's, but it was DCT.

No, I break in my cars by the book. All my hooning was done in the Performance Center cars.

Thanks Tommy! My ship tracking "hobby" comes to an end. Our ships crossed paths last week, just outside of Brunswick, and that's the last I'll see of them. Can't wait for the summer, hoping to see you at MPACT East in July!

Thanks! The 6MT is the cat's meow. This car has so much torque, that you can drive it lazily, I spent most of the time in 6th gear, with the occasional downshift to 5th when traffic slowed down. BMW really got the shifter right on the F8x.

EDIT: I have to make a conscious effort, not to do my own rev matching on down shifts, as this screws with the computer aided rev matching. I wish that feature was user selectable in iDrive.

Thanks everyone! Of course, the streets around here are slick as an ice rink, so she will stay in the garage until it all melts. I'm not even taking the X5 out, as AWD will not help on ice.

I have ordered my YMB F80 M3 for July 6th ED with PCD to follow. I grew up near Asheville NC so it will be great to visit then take the scenic route back home to TX.
