Exclamation AR Design catted downpipes: new product

Here is the first set of catted downpipes I have seen advertised for this car. Even better, ar design is an excellent company with top level fitment and quality (from my n54 days).

I'm very intrigued how these will perform, sound and whether they will prevent cel.

Who's gonna try these first?

http://www.ardesign.info/store/selec...race-cats.html

Price seems fairly reasonable at 1499.99 msrp.

Wonder what the power gains would be over the catless versions.

1150! Even better . Cheaper than some of the lesser companies catless dp

I would think there will still be some gains over the oem setup. But mainly better throttle response and turbo spooling, better sound while containing rasp and not having to deal with cel

Very compelling product imo

Would be perfect if they had a flex section. Also doesn't say how much the ceramic coating is

I had AR Design dp on my e92 n54 and the quality was great. Let me confirm this... Since these have race cats I can swap them in with NO tune and I won't get CEL?

Highly unlikely. I think you'd still pick up a CEL

Then what is the point of the cats? If it will still throw CEL then why not run catless... I was hoping I could get some of the benefits of DPs without a tune

Based on past experience with other cars, high flow cats like this will avoid a CEL. No guarantees, of course.

Hfc on e92 always through a cel and if you are going to leave secondaries in place this is pointless since those are already high flow cats lol

Sorry, but is it bad if the dp's don't have flex joints? I'm not sure how that would affect anything.

Got a link, because I have asked 50x and have never gotten an answer, only speculation that oem cats are 400 cell.

It's an expensive addition, but I'm running an AWRON gauge and pretty soon they will offer CEL suppression and exhaust valve actuation. I love it!

Secondaries not primaries usually are 200 or 400. Either way if catted pipes don't prevent cel than what's point I'm saying unless you had removed secondaries and want to reduce smell

Because they don't always throw a cel, especially if the product is from a reputable company like ar.

And you called the oem primary cats high flow cats, and I wanted to know where you got that info.

Fyi high flow cats are 100-200 cell, and oem primaries are 400-600 cell
