From E90 6MT SC M3 to F80 DCT M3 Final Photo Shoot
My E90 VF620 fully-moddified 6MT M3 drove away today with the new owner. I took a couple final shots of the cars together before the inevitable separation.

That E90 is a beast. How would you compare the driving experience of the new one against the old SC?
No doubt the F80 is more aggressive but that's not to say the E90 wasnt. Both great cars. |

Very different driving dynamics; especially going from 6MT to DCT. The F80 is a little easier to drive in that it is more forgiving because you are in the power band for a much longer range. The supercharged E90 is a little more responsive and feels faster, but that just might be the lower center of gravity and louder exhaust. I'm pretty sure that the F80 would win in the beginning of a run but the E90 would catch up in less than a quarter mile. All that will change with a couple mods that are by far less expensive than what went into the E90.

Longbow64, How do you feel about going from 6MT to DCT?? I've had e46 m3 6MT and now e92 6MT but when picking the F82 I'm really considering to get DCT

Lovely cars
Funny, though, how the E90 now just looks....old. (I just sold my E90 328 and, sitting next to the F80...it did look old. Which is funny, cause when F30 came out I dodnt think it was that different from the E90 3 series but looking at the M versions it really stands out....)

I'm a huge supporter of manual cars and I've had one as my personal car up until now. The DCT is fantastic. In automatic, it really manages the gears very well and discretely. Sometimes I look down and see I'm in 7th gear and wonder where the other 6 gears went. Much more convenient in everyday driving without the annoying stuff a normal auto gives you (idling forward, shifting in manual mode automatically, slow shifts, crappy response, etc.). I a negative note, I find myself just a little bored, but appreciate it most when I'm in stop and go traffic.
