Dropped my M4 at Fabspeed!
Fabspeed has been using my car as a development platform for their new M4/M3 exhaust products, and I wanted to share the progress, as things are starting to shape up really nicely.
I dropped my car off a couple of months ago, and they’ve been sending updates as each step is completed. The first thing they did was get the car up in the air to examine the design and construction of the factory system, so that they could see what was required and where they could make improvements. Fabspeed then pulled the OEM system off and digitized the proprietary flanges so that they could CNC their own versions and begin building their system(s) back from those. Once the flanges were complete, Fabspeed began digitizing and 3D-modeling the center tubing sections of optimized flow and sound. After a few prototypes and testing, they discovered that the best setup on these cars is to use two “x” sections, allowing the two sides of the exhaust to blend, which smoothed out the sound significantly. They are currently working on developing and testing the rear muffler section with various valve configurations, but the results so far are quite promising! Sounds much better than any of the other systems I have heard on the market so far… Fabspeed is starting to take pre-orders on these systems, so you can contact them directly for more details. I will post more updates as I get them! ENJOY! Best Regards, Last edited by E92 nick; 01-09-2015 at 04:01 PM.. |

Sweet! If I had a spare car is gladly give mine up for R&D lol. The free exhaust would cover the expense or more of payments for the time it was not in my possession. And I wouldn't be driving much in the winter anyway.
Sounds nice and smooth! I like it! |

Everye exhaust that came out so far is always claimed to be "the best from the rest". The problem isn't so much being the best... It's the fact that everyone is charging an arm and a leg for one of these damn things.

This time they don't even have the overhead of purchasing the car.

I noticed that just like most manufacturers generally Fabspeed makes their exhaust in several parts (rear section, midpipe, etc). Is the car in the videos equipped with the rear section only?

It sounds really good and I like it. But again for the money I'm not too sure I'm going to get any exhaust. I personally think the stock sounds really good with the valves open. All it needs is downpipes to get the extra rumble.

I have a full Fabspeed set up on my Porsche and it's amazing. I can't wait to hear the new M3/M4 set-up and I commend you for letting them use your car for development.
