Thank!

That's what I needed to see, it has the L shaped cutouts for the SSG style paddles. I'm using the DCT paddles which use the rectangular cutouts

It was installed on a 2012 M3 with DCT transmission if that helps.

What is OEM paddle use? Do I need to buy special paddles for this steering wheel?

My OEM paddles were used on this wheel. Dealership swapped them onto this wheel when installed and swapped them back to OEM steering wheel when uninstalled. If you have a DCT E90/E92 you don't need anything else to install.

Here is a Photo of the wheel when it was installed with the standard paddles that came in my car. No modifications to paddles done at all.

Thanks Boost! Hope that clears up those questions. Yes I had exact same set up. A E92 M3 with DCT transmission. Exactly what this steering wheel is meant for. It had no issues, no modification needed, ect... This is the V2 steering wheel for a DCT car.

It is a beautiful wheel & in good condition

I know that the paddles will physically bolt on to the wheel, but that doesn't mean they fit correctly. Just because a BMW Tech bolted DCT paddles on to this wheel doesn't make it correct - I've seen them do lots of dumb things.

In this pic you see the wheel with L-Shaped cutouts for SSG paddles on far left, & wheel with larger/rectangular cutouts specifically for DCT paddles on far right. The DCT cutouts are noticeably larger to accept the large rectangular DCT style mount without interference with the backside of wheel:

You can even see on the rear pic you provided where there are indentations made by perimeter of the DCT mount that are past the edges of the L-Shaped SSG cutout - normally the DCT mount fits ENTIRELY within the proper DCT cutout with room to spare around entire perimeter:

Because the cutout is not correct shape, the paddles don't fit in to wheel as flush as they should - especially out near the rim. This kicks the paddles out farther away from backside of wheel. This is particularly evident on right side as shown in this pic, where the paddle itself is very close to the Turn Signal Stalk:

IDK about you guys (mebbe you have smaller hands than I), but I had a wheel at one time with L-Shaped cutouts that I installed the DCT paddles to. It was very annoying every time I tried to use the right side paddle when my fingers hit the turn signal stalk every time I went to pull the + UP shift paddle due to the fact that the paddle was moved further away from backside of wheel than normal & closer to stalk.

Every listing for this wheel on any BMW dealer site even clearly states

*Not for M3 vehicles

I have seen some people actually trim away the leather/padding from backside of wheel with SSG cutouts - to make cutout same as DCT & enable paddles to fit flush as normal, but I don't like the idea of hacking on a perfectly good wheel

Again, just as boost posted. I had this installed with zero issues as did he with his. And ton's of other people who had them installed with no problems. No issues with the way the paddles sit for me and I've never heard that before. It felt the exact same as when I had the stock wheel prior to installing this and when i removed this wheel when I traded in my car. 2012 M3 DCT.
