Has anyone deleted the secondary cats and replaced the resonator?

I searched but couldn't find if anyone left the muffler stock and removed secondary cats and replaced the resonator with something different.

I ask b/c on my 1M I swapped out the secondary cats for a stock 135i straight piece and got a little more sound and crackling on over-run (maybe power?). In addition to that a resonator "can" have a small affect on sound. I'm just wondering if you can go about it a little differently to keep drone away and increase sound.

Edit: I'm an idiot, I forgot I put on the secondary cat delete pipe after the magnaflow exhaust. That's probably why I heard the effects. Now if I could just figure out how to delete this post....
