Sound Clips of Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust

I posted these videos in my Journal, but I'm sure everyone that would be interested in how the Akra sound doesn't visit it. I made a cold start video a week ago.

I made another video of the Akra Exhaust. I'll make one more at my new video spot in the next few weeks. There is more room to run at the other place. The problem is that it's 30 minutes from my house. I wanted to get something up, so I went out to my old spot on Sunday at dusk.

I'm a huge fan of the Akra in Sport Mode driving around town. So under say 6,000 RPMs the car sound really, really good. Revving the car in the garage sounds awesome. Above 6K, Akra and OEM make me cringe. I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to address the awful sound and farting the S55 makes at higher RPMs. I guess it's good that it sounds worse in the car than outside.

I never, ever drive in Comfort mode but had a few people ask me to include some sound bites. It basically sounds like stock.

I'm pretty certain I won't have this exhaust forever, but I like it enough to keep for a while.

I do have a question. Are others with this exhaust getting the same vibration when cold? I'll jack the car up to see if anything needs adjusting next weekend.

Yeah, no downpipes. I got my SPL meter. I'll do some tests soon.

Sounds good. Seems like the exhaust for the F80 platform all sound alike meaning there isn't much difference.

Agreed, sounds much better than other videos that I've seen!

Thanks so much for doing the closed valve runs for me

Anything louder would be too loud for my taste. It's juuuuust right I've only known exhausts to get louder over time.

Sport mode sounds good. Have you tried pulling the plugs out when the valves are open like the oem mod so it just stays constantly loud?

These exhausts are just so damn pricey. For me, not sure it is worth it.
I'll have to hear one in person I guess.

I agree. If I didn't get it for $5k used, I would have never bought it.

It's pretty anticlimactic.

I just made a valve disconnect video for those that care.

Wow, so the procedure is the same as oem? Drive around in sport mode shut off and unplug it?

How do you like it? Much louder at low speeds? Cruising on the hwy?

I think I like it. It is much louder at start-up. The valves used to rattle on a cold start, now they don't. I haven't been on the highway yet, but my first short trip was much better. I'll give you an update when I have some more time behind the wheel.

I thought it was funny. He cracks me up, so I left it in the video. Also so that people don't think I completely neglect the family. I just involve the in my craziness.
