Do you have to do a fluid change when installing this or can it be done just as a swap?

You stated as often as possible. Can you suggest an interval based on miles if the car is mostly street driven and just one track day a year.

SSP suggested BMW DCT maintenance schedule:
1st fluid and filter change- 10000 miles 2nd fluid and filter change- 35000-50000 miles Every 35000-50000 miles after that with normal driving. |

What are these recommendations based on? Do you have any data on fluid condition, failure modes and frequency, etc.?

Fluid change is all based on driving habits and conditions for this transmission. BMW's service of this transmission is very vague. Customers that do more regular fluid changes are less likely to run into issues down the line. |

So assuming that when removing the filter, we will lose quite a bit of the DCT fluid, do we just replace the amount lost with new fluid or will there be .X amount that's lost to the filter that needs to be calculated in?
How do we top it off again (where to pour fluid back in)? |
