Exclamation tackle SSk by myself?

Hey guys

Just got the BMW performance ssk in the mail..
And I was wondering if I should tackle the project by myself.

In real terms, what do I have to remove in order to gain access to the undercarriage parts....

Can i just bend the heat shield or does the exhaust and or driveshaft have to come off?

Thanks! ( I have decent mechanical experience)

Also if someone has an undercarriage picture of the general area with heat shield folded or removed so I can get a better idea of what Im dealing with...

I just had mine installed a few days ago and I'll give you some input. I had mine installed by Eurotek Tuning here locally in Vegas. I know the shop owner and he let me hang out and watch the tech and give pointers as the tech was not familiar with it on this platform.

This would be pretty difficult doing at home on jack stands. It's not that the install is extremely difficult, but really helps having access to a lift. The midpipe has to be dropped, there is just not enough room to get around it. However there is enough room to get around the driveshaft without dropping it. Doing this on jack stands is just not something I'd want to do, however technically, it probably could be done. It would just be more tedious. The heat shield was much easier to just remove since we had it on the lift. Once the midpipe and heat shield are off, it all becomes more clear. Also keep in mind you will need to replace the gaskets between the midpipes and downpipes as they are one time use. After all, the end result is awesome. I love my SSK so far.
