Strange noise coming from the engine

weird noises coming from jus below air filter.When the car is off .sounds like a pump kicking in and out.randomley.this is wit engine not running or key in the ignition.any ideas.135i 2011 sport pack ,Ppk1. dct auto.also have the rough idle.which I complain about at least 10 times. BMW Say it is normal and no codes.how ever they replace 2 coils and spark plugs.any ideas.

The engine has an electric water pump. It circulates coolant after the engine is shut off to cool the turbo and prevent "coking". Totally normal and working as intended.

Thank you,I was worry,beacause I
video tape it show it to the dealer,they keep the car for a few days and say they could not duplicate.now my warranty has expire.the only other issue is rough idle,after coming to a stop it does surge to aroun 1200RPM and then goes to idle.around 600RPM.they say is normal also althoug they change 3 coils and spark plugs.now it runs a lot stronger.more powerful.Thank you.

Sounds like your DCT needs a sw update. Out of warranty most dealers will charge an hour or two ($140 per hour ?).
