Parking Brake Cable after subframe bushing install

So I obviously didn't get something right. I dropped the subframe and did all the bushings and put on a RD sway bar. To do all that I had to remove the metal clips from the back of the hubs as they hold the parking brake cable in place on both sides. I reinstalled the cable ends exactly like they were yet I have basically zero tension on my parking brake handle now. It does nothing. I obviously missed something stupid. What did I miss?

You likely just need to reset the tension on the brake adjustor itself. Either stick a screwdriver inside a wheel lug hole or remove the rotor and move the daisy wheel.

If that does not work and assuming the cable is properly installed, you may have to pull the rotor to inspect the parking brake. It is possible the end came out of its holding place while the tension was off.

How was the subframe and diff bushing job? I will be doing it soon, with AKG bushings.

IIRC, you have to remove the rotor and the shoes to wiggle out the actuator arm that the cable attaches to. If you didn't remove the rotor then its likely that you didn't seat the actuator correctly between the brake shoes.

Or...if you removed the cables from the ebrake handle then you will need to need to tighten up the 2 adjustment nuts under the ebrake boot.

Removed rotors and have cable properly attached in mechanism for shoes. Did not disconnect anything on other end of cables under handle.

Just had to pop the tension on the spring under the handle while lifting the handle. All good now.
