3 weeks and 3 water pumps in my E88

Okay, I'm pissed as hell. I have a 2011 E88 with a Cobb Stage 1 flash, Cobb Charge pipe, Ingen intake and a PE and over the past few weeks I've had 2 water pumps installed. The first appeared to be an outright failure, the second due to a connector getting wet from coolant and last night on my way home from the airport it overheated again.

I had road side assistance tow it to Leith BMW a very reputable local dealer.

Anyone experience multiple failures like this? If so, what was the resolution?

It's a CPO vehicle so it's not costing me anything other than the initial 50.00 deductible.

But i gotta think something else is goingon.

Same dealership doing all the work?

I'd try my luck at a different dealership. Either there is a completely different problem, they botched the install, they didn't even actually do the work etc.

The water pumps suck, but not 3 in 3 weeks bad...

Yeah, I guess I should try another dealership. Roadside assistance prefers/requires i go to the nearest one and the next closest is an hour away.

I think it's an unrelated problem, if it happens again I will definitely take it to the other dealer.

I modded my STI and 2 S4s and never had an issue with warranty claims. My feeling is if they can't directly attribute the failure to the mod then they should cover it. Hell, if they strictly followed the warranty T&Cs they could deny coverage for aftermarket wheels.

And when i take it in for service I flash it back to stock and clear the codes any way which leaves an intake, CP and BMW PE as the mods. Would be hard to deny a water pump claim with those mods.

will be getting mine back today. Dealer fixed it on Monday but kept it for a few days for testing. it seems this time it wasn't the water pump but the DME and intelligent battery cable. they were damaged by the coolant leak in one of the subsequent failures. so both were replaced

we shall see
