Info on stock F80 M3 / F82 M4 turbocharger units and our turbo upgrade plans
We will shed a little light because it seems people want to know.
A few general pieces of info about the stock S55 turbos: -These are MHI turbos. -The stock turbine wheels are bigger than stock N54, but smaller than RB Turbo N54. (for reference) -The compressor housings and turbine housings (aka turbofolds) have great flow potential. The wastegate valve area was designed VERY well. -These are relatively easy to upgrade (stage 1 and stage 2). Thanks |

Yes, we have had the S55 cores for a long time. We are skipping over Stage 1 and have been working on Stage 2 for a while now. Thank you. |

If you don't have a Stage 1, then that makes your "Stage 2" a Stage 1, doesn't it? Clue me on on what I'm missing here.

Stage 1 is commonly a compressor wheel only upgrade Stage 2 is commonly a compressor wheel and turbine wheel upgrade We are skipping over Stage 1 (which we could have had done months ago), because we feel in this application it doesn't make much sense. The stock turbine wheels are already very small for the 560whp level people are reaching. The new OE turbos cost us around $4k for a set. If we built a Stage 1, we would ask around $2500 + $4000 core deposit. Our stage 2 should land right around $5000 + $4000 core deposit. If we all find out that the Stage 1 setup makes enough power to be worth the time / money, we may consider offering a Stage 1. For now, we are prioritizing the Stage 2. Thank you |

Pardon the uneducated question and this is possibly premature, but do you expect new turbos + tune to:
- Increase top-end with same mid-range? - Increase mid-range with same top-end? - Increase both top-end and mid-range? - Increase top-end at cost of mid-range? And what effects on turbo lag do you expect? Thanks.

Also what about if we give you our turbos rather than exchange? Each core swap would be different

Good question. We expect an increase in both mid-range and top-end. They will spool later than the stock turbos, yet the power gain will majorly outweigh the difference in spool time. They will still spool very fast. Quote:
Thanks for the inquiries guys! |
