BMW Ultimate Driving Experience Car Control Clinic

BMW put on a great event at Citi Field last week. Was able to test drive the F80 M3 for the first time which was nice, but the car control clinic really showed some of the highlights of the M3 and the M235i. It was basically a mini one day ///M school and so close to my house that I had to go. They say they will be adding more cities to 2015 so hope you guys get to experience this. It's a full day of braking, handling exercises and autocross.

Team Competition Autocross

Final team lap from the outside

Emercency Lane Change excercise w/ M235i

Slalom w/ M235i

Autocross lapping w/ M235i

Skid Pad w/ 328i (Using plastic covers over the rear tires to simulate a wet skid)

Next day went to the free autocross trial w/ 228i. Much smaller event (About 2 hours) than the car control (free compared to $650 for Car Control) but still pretty fun. Also had a team competition at the end.

I had the chance to try the Car control clinic back in July when they were at Metlife Stadium. First time I ever done an Autocross/class and also first time driving an M car and it was damn fun. I did all the same things you guys did albeit a larger class and more M3 color choices lol. I had chance to do the free Autocross at Citifield since I didn't get chance to try back in NJ. Whats cool is I met some of the same instructors during clinic and they remembered me also. Those guys are awesome to hang around with.

We talked a bit during the private dinner event and I'm still disappointed I didn't get to participate in this event. It seemed like it was loads of fun! How did you like the F80 and the m235i compared to your E90? I think I'll sign up for it in the future if there is ever another event like this. Anyway nice coverage and thanks for posting the videos!

I really liked both cars, the F80 is definitely an improvement over the E90, but its not enough for me to give up mine yet. Maybe a competition pack like they did with the M5/6 will change that. The steering felt pretty good and it felt there was less body roll then there would be in the E90. The M235i is really as good as the journalists say it is so I can't wait to see how the M2 will be like.

I went to the 228 autocross, it was way more fun than I expected!
I wish I would've gone more than just one day.

A great event and I think it definitely helps sell bmw's

I just got notice to sign up for the Houston one. @JDy80, did you have to pay for the M235i course? It looks like the car control clinic is $625?
