Maybe I'm lucky, my battey died.....
So the car is scheduled to go into service on 14 Oct for the new SIB to fix the idle and (hopefully) throttle lag issues that have plagued it since new. Also getting VANOS recall done. Life is good.
But this weekend, I hit the start button, womp, womp, start. Did it again, same thing. Sounds to me like the battery is discharged. Third time, no dice. Had to get a jump start. Drove to the house, killed it, it did not even attempt to turn over, and had to boost again. Called the SA and asked if I could just leave it with them now instead of next week, and he said no problem, they'd add 'replace the battery' to the list. I guess I feel like I got a $600 gift since warranty expires in July 2015, and I was worried about battery failure (and the out of warranty price tag when it happened). So in a sense, I feel lucky. But I also feel like a modern battery should last more than 3 years. Shouldn't it? I did get a 428i loaner. Not bad but it's huge and not the same kick in the pants of the 135. |

Similar issue happened with my battery... Seems to have happened to numerous others on this forum as well. Could be a bad batch of batteries or something. My car is a 2011 though.
Could you send me a link or post the SIB for the idle here? Is this related to DCT? |
