Question Shift lights on HUD?

I recently had my break-in service, and I anticipated being able to see the shift lights on the M-View HUD display. However, it doesn't appear that it is working.

Is there a setting in the idrive for that? (I searched for 45 mins and didn't see anything to configure). Did my service tech not activate this?

I searched the forums for this, but failed to find anyone commenting on this. I appreciate any help the boards can offer.

You need to get near redline before they start lighting up.

i dont think there is a setting for it in idrive i think its just supposed to be there. when you get near the red line and if you have M-view on the HUD it should start flashing yellow, same with the analog RPM in the dash cluster. It won't show shift lights unless you're near or at the red line

They will light up during break in also. By accident, of course.

If you have the DCT you have to increase your shift intensity to 2 or 3 and it'll light near redline.

Thanks gents. I've been near redline, but not in manual mode and I am always in S2 or S3. I'll give it a try during lunch.
