New Transmission... Break In?

Hey guys.
Back in March, I was having some problem with the transmission on my 09 e90. I posted a thread about it back then....
After lot of calling, waiting, emails and more waiting I finally got it replaced.
Question is... should I break in the transmission as if the car was new? Or is it ok to drive it normally.

I don't believe the tranny needs a break-in. Normally it would be the engine and diffy. However, it couldn't hurt to let it get some run in time to get things working smoothly. Especially if you are going to be out of warranty soon.

DCT or MT, I know with MT just like an LSD you should change the gear box oil after a 1000 miles. New gears wearing in..metal shavings that sort of thing. I would imagine DCT is no different.

I would think you should break it in at least for a while.

I had a new 6MT replaced under warranty a while back and part of the process was the change of tranny oil after 2k km.

No. They didn't say. In terms of transmission behavior, there was nothing wrong with it. It just made weird grinding noise at certain speeds. We landed on transmission by process of elimination. They put in a new transmission and the noise was gone. They didn't open up the transmission to find out was wrong. They just replaced it.

Now the grinding noise is gone and also rattling that I thought was coming from the dash is gone too.
