OBD Pins Missing?

So really random question, but has anyone had any problems with OBD Pins? I dropped my car off to get inspected today at the dealer and they said their computer was having a hard time getting connection with the car. They said after further examination, some of the OBD pins seem to be missing and they need to do some additional research (1 hr of time) to see how they can fix it.

Never heard of such a thing and my search turned up zero results. Thanks in advance for any help. I know the car was coded and tuned at one point but can't see pins just falling out.

Pins falling out would be nearly impossible... It's hard to take them out without a special tool.

Every pin on the OBD port isn't populated. If they can't communicate I would first look for any aftermarket equipment that ties into the CAN bus.
