E90 m3 supercharge 14psi fuelling assistance
Hi guys .can any 1 point me in the right direction. My current setup is e90 m3 6mt.Jerez black. Vt625 ess kit. Rogue short shifter. 4:1:0 gearing. Volks G12 19" wheels.kw v3 coilover. Cooling mist cmgs12 progressive water meth. Akra evolution titanium exhaust.Im currently at hi altitude and are achieving boost pressures of 7.5psi with bigger crank pulley and smaller charger pulley. My current goal is to custom to. VT3 setup. Im currently in the process of ordering Mahle low compression forged pistons To drop the compression ratio to around 10:0:01. Not sure if the Carrillo rods are needed. Also have lined up is the upgraded pulley drive system and tuning which is no issue. As far as the fuelling requirements go, at around 9-10 psi the car runs lean and requires more fuel. With a little help I've managed to get the injector setup sorted which will be supplied with the file. Up front a Fuellab fuel pressure regulator with 1:1 vacuum / boost compensation. The tune requires 5 bar stable fuel supply with upgraded fuel and fuel rail lines. The issue is with the intank pump setup. I've read in 1 of the posts of Drews mention of combining the 335 and oem m3 intank pump. Can any1 assist with this combination of intank pumps and the setup please? Thanx

Your statement of carillo rods I'm not sure if needed sounds like you should just pull the plug while your ahead ..
Upgraded rods is a must! Where are you sourcing the injectors and tune from ? |

I am not familiar with the E90M3 fuel system, but if you just need more flow from a tank pump, I don't see why that is a big deal. On other cars, some people put two pumps on a stock hanger and some use one higher flow pump. If doubling up the pumps, look at the Deatschwerks DW300. It was redesigned recently and the new version does 275 LPH at 80 psi at 13.5V, which is really exceptional. Most pumps in this size drop off dramatically as pressure goes up. I use one on my turbo E36M3. For a single large pump, consider the Walbro 400, but the fat base makes installation trickier.
For any of these, installation will be custom. Foam sleeves are available to shim the fit in the hanger and hose clamps may be required to hold the pump in place. You want to pay attention to the angle of the stock pump and filter, and try to duplicate it as closely as possible. You could go further, and have a sleeve machined for one of these aftermarket pumps. Such machined sleeves exist for the popular Walbro 255 for the E36, and there are even double hangers available. If you study those and ones for other cars, you might get some ideas. Probably not much exists in the aftermarket for the E90M3. Others might go to a big inline pump under the car, but they are often noisy. I did not go that way on my E36, which has just a tank pump, so I don't know too much about the options. DW makes an inline pump. The Bosch 044 is popular in the performance crowd. Again, you want to pay attention to the flow at high fuel pressure, if you will be at 5 bar plus 1 bar boost or about 90 psi factoring in a little restriction in lines. I also use the Kenne Bell Boost a Pump to increase voltage under boost. Roughly, you get 10-20% more flow per volt. JMS makes a similar device. They will increase the flow of any pump by up to about 50%. I have been using my KB BAP for about 6 years. I use the stock wiring to trigger a relay, with the new power line from the relay to the KB. I like the new AEM WB02 with Failsafe. Might protect an expensive motor that suddenly goes lean. In the heat of the moment, it can be hard to watch everything when you concentrating on driving. I lost a motor in 2009 due to running out of fuel. |

^ ^ terrific information above. DLSJ5 (Drew) and regularguy can help you with an effective solution using both that M3 and 335 pumps. It will flow sufficient to meet your goals. They will be happy to help you.

I did write that I knew nothing about the E9xM3 fuel system and that is true. It is not so simple. I was curious and dug around a little. It is a variable flow pump. Not so easy to work around as on the earlier M3:
