Akrapovic Evolution Questions

Hey fellas, I just picked up an stock Alpine white 2012 e92 last week, so please excuse any newbe questions.

I was looking to buy an Akrapovic Evo exhaust next week. I have searched and it seems that people get the slip-on mufflers, and later down the road get the X-pipes to complete the EVO system. Is that correct or is there more to the EVO system then that?

The reason I ask is there just seems to be a big discrepancy in cost of purchasing the EVO exhaust complete vs piecing together the exhaust. The cheapest I was able to find the complete EVO exhaust was $6400. However, if I piece it together I can get it for: $2300 for the titanium slip-on, and $2400 for the titanium X-pipes. Thats a savings of $1700... Am I missing something, and would buying those two components be the same thing as buying a complete EVO exhaust? Part numbers the same?

2nd question: I see VividRacing, whom I done alot of business in the past with, lists the Slip+on for 06-11 cars. Mine is a 2012, so is there something different about a 2012 model that would not allow the exhaust to be compatible?

I think I figured out the discrepancy. Vivid racing has exhaust-tip options that tack on $1500. Kind of strange. Maybe I should ask them for one with out tips haha.

Either way, do both of these parts consist an EVO exhaust?

Very simple reason--the tips (+1525) are not included on Vivid add... Also, the coupe & 'vert are the same & the sedan setup is different (shorter)--the years should not matter.

CONGRATS on your new car!

Check out the used section here. The Akra Evo ages very well and you can usually get it for a big discount compared to new.

Yes, the Evo is nothing more that the slip-on and the x-pipe. Enjoy!

Thanks, Snail
Just so you're aware, Alekshop has the Evo for just under $6000.
