Installed TP's... what to do with the stock bracket
So I spent 3 hours on my back under my car installing my Test Pipes. It was a success with a sore back (now) but its worth it every time I hit that start button . Anyways onto my question. So you have two exhaust mounting brackets (passenger and driver) and only one is used once the test pipes are installed. What is everyone doing to keep the driver side bracket from rattling? I have the ACM test pipes and they dont have a spot to connect the pipes back to the stock bracket.
Thanks!

You're saying the bracket is just sitting loose on your x-pipe? Remove it or figure out a way to make it useful.
Without the bracket I can feel some vibration in the accelerator. I am going to try to find a way to attach it better. |

You shouldn't have a rattle or noise. It might depend on the test pipe but I was able to retain the passenger side bracket but not the driver's side. On that side you just have to remove the whole bracket (the thing that goes all the way around the pipe) and let it sit free.
I had a rattle initially too, on the driver's side but it was because the clamp between the header and test pipe was not holding the metal gasket tight so it rattled between the header and test pipe. This may be what yours is doing. Suggest going under the car, grab the test pipe and shake it back and forth, you should be able to figure out where the noise is coming from. |

This is the bracket im talking about. Only the passenger side can be used. The driver-side is just in limbo...

Most installations I've seen have the bracket removed. However, I think AA's test pipes have a brace built in so that you can retain and use the bracket. Maybe you can look at them and get a brace fabricated and welded into your test pipes.

I believe it also removes some exhaust rattle and drone. If you look at where it attaches, the holes appear to be rubber lined as if to dampen sound. My bracket is currently removed and there is some additional noise as a result.
