some newbie question about M3 M-DTC

hi i new to this forum and i just bought 2008 M3 E92 M-DTC, odo 41k km / 25k miles
i did some modification BBK alcon, GroppeM air filter , BBS RI-D, Kw suspension V3, Akrapovic evolution, varis Carbon hood, BMW performance steer wheel, spiter
, ducktail, LCI stoplight

i have newbie question

1. i read in this forum that M DTC can be upgrade, is it just software update or have some hardware modification? is the modification/upgrade will make M-DTC life longer (more safe like nissan GTR software upgrade )

2. is M-DTC a bit jerky/rough than normal automatic because sometime i feel the change gear a bit rough in automatic mode (2bar), i bit paranoid with DTC since raise a lot of problem with GTR DTC, is M-DTC quite reliable?

3. any tips to maintain M-DTC ? how to maintain M-DTC? how long should we change transmission oil?

4. should we change engine, transmission ,LDS oil before pop up in display ?

5. what the most common M3 problem ?

The Euro GTS DCT software is a simple software upgrade, which takes about 5 minutes or so. It will make the shifts smoother and going into reverse a lot better. There are plenty of tuners who offer this tune so fine the one with the best deal.

Change your engine oil every 5,000 - 7,500 miles or every 6 months depending on how you drive. I'd follow the book on transmission fluid changes.

Our DCT is extremely reliable so far. Some guys have tons of power through them without it skipping the beat. I would hit up alex@alpine for the euro DCT tune. Just search for it.

Change oil every 5k or 7.5k, change diff fluid/plugs every 30k. Let the car warm up before wailing on it.

Btw someone did take a sample of the DCT fluid and sent it in for analysis. You can search the forum for it but long story short after like 30 or 60k miles the fluid showed extremely little wear to the point it was practically new. DCT fluid is "lifetime".

OP,

Slight topic digression: What color is your car? Is it wrapped? It appears to be a matte titanium silver?

I think it looks really good.

First, beautiful car! Alex@Alpine did my DCT tune and it's still the best mod I've done, and I've also done a few. Btw, I like your wrap - an unsolicited opinion - wrap the hood and maybe keep some carbon edges exposed to show them off.

Theoretically it would reduce the wear with the quick shifts and less slipping..but don't quote me on that. Alex would know more. I know he can do it remotely but idk about Indonesia. Search his name in the forum and pm him. All in all the DCT will last a very long time. Even the supercharged guys will get a very long life out of it. Imo don't mess with the DCT fluid. But change oil at least at half intervals.

Several people, including me. I changed at 40k because I track the car. Use Pentosin FFL4, the OEM fluid (roughly $25-30 a liter at the time I bought it).
