E92 Exhaust question...

Ok, I recently bought a 09 e92 m3 and Im looking to add an exhaust. Ive tried doing some research on this site and googling some reviews. Im looking to add an exhaust that's not very expensive, something like a Megan, CNT, or Corsa exhaust. It seems megan and CNT are very affordable with pretty good reviews. Ive listened to some sound clips and videos but cant get a good feel for what they actually sound like. I personally like a louder exhaust. Can someone point me in the correct direction as far as an affordable exhaust that's on the loud side?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge but what is the OEM exhaust mod? What needs to be done? Any sound clips?

Cut into your original muffler and replace the perforated pipes with solid pipes.. you can look it up anywhere on the forum, theres a lot of info on it. The mod itself cost about 150-200 and another 200 for tips, so its a bargain..

Do you happen to have the Corsa installed on your car? Any video clips?

YEP!

No Drone. I love it. Long Time. There's like two of them for sale in the forum classifieds as well. Get some, you'll love it.

Sounds awesome. Especially going through tunnels and parking garages. When I had my 335i I couldn't help but hammer the gas when under a bridge or in a parking garage. But Im sure it bothered the people in the parking garage lol So as far as the Corsa exhaust, Ive been trying to read a bit on exhausts. Are axle back and cat back exhausts the same for e92 M3's? Or is there a difference and which would I be better off with? I don't want to go crazy modding this car, but would just like a nice exhaust note.

Axle Back and Catback are one in the same in this scenario. It connects to your one piece mid section that houses your cats.

There is a B&B exhaust for E92 in the for sale section. Most underrated exhaust IMO. In have the same exhaust and love it. Check out my comments on that for sale thread. Can't figure out how to attach the link to the page from mobile app so just search today's exhaust for sale section

Learn from my expensive and time consuming trial and error, buy the Corsa. Just go do it and tell me you're not in love with it.

I have a megan cat-back with Macht Schnell cat-less xpipe. Here is a very short vid right after install...so I'm still in the cold cycle , hence the burp !

Hands down of all the setups I've heard locally, the best sounding and certainly the most affordable providing good gains with the cats removed.

enjoy

I actually just put in my order on their website last night. It was on sale for $400 with a coupon code discount which made the total $380. It seems like everyones review on the CNT exhaust has been good. And at that price, you cant go wrong. Was it a pretty straight forward install? Im not the mechanical type person so Ill probably have someone install it for me. But you never know, maybe Ill give it a try.

Its essentially a catback install. Very straight forward. However I do recommend taking it to a muffler shop ready to hack some stuff to make it sit straight. I couldn't get over the way it looked ever so slightly crooked - so i ended up going to a muffler shop at the end. I say save yourself time and headache by going to the muffler shop on the first try. They'll charge like $100 with install and hacking all together.
