Insurance writeoff question

Hi guys, reposting from the region section but basically.

Been involved in a smash which has resulted in some damage to the front rails of the car. Insurance has decided that it may be cheaper to try and repair it rather than wrote it off. The question is, are the front rails a part of the chassis (making it a structural writeoff) or are they a replaceable subframe?

Thanks
Henry

This is totally the wrong section.

If the front frame horns are bent, that is chassis damage. They will need to be straightened or replaced (cut off and new ones welded on).
