This just gets more and more exciting.
Loving that front vent and rear vent details.
Really does look like BMW may be using this car as a mule of its own for future production cues for the BMW ///M range, which will hopefully offer more and more driver focused stable cars, return of new gen CSL's I hope.
That being said, cudos to the guys on the new findings.
Appreciation points coming.
I see people are quite stingy with such thanks here, let's get into the spirit of rewarding and giving.
We will be giving it to a lot of rivals brands in our ///M2's so we may as well start now.

I don't know if I'm just seeing things that aren't there, but in this picture I think you can spot a cutout around the exhaust tips, similar to the one on the M4? At least the horizontal line..

Yup.

Can see it clearly in the negatives.
Exhaust tips are very ///M4-esque in styling.
So much better than Pyrat 1's test exhaust gosh.

If it is similar to the M4 that would be a good thing.I would much prefer the whole rear bumper being painted, compared to the 1M which isn't.

I thought everybody would know this by now...

We did not see a final prototype with the final body till May 2010.

The car is influenced by the M235i Racing in its styling because it is in the genes of the compact BMW from the 2002 Turbo to the E30 M3. Its definition also makes it stand out from the M4.

The M2 will launch in 2015. And be on the market early 2016.

Here are some pics of the M235i Racing and the new pic.

That car is just perfection.

I agree. Seems to me that the camo is covering a rear diffuser that is similar to the M4's.

Aside from that, the line I pointed out earlier, which mimics the bottom of the Vision GT Concept's vent, is visible on both sides of the bumper. Thank you Artemis for the negatives.

It's amazing the lack of any kind of enthusiasm for this car on the UK 1 and 2 series forum.. Even in the m2 thread it's almost non existant

Thank god I've got 2addicts!

How's the M4 going Chris?

Completely agree. I'm usually starved for more information, so I come here to talk to you guys. If you think about it, there's probably 10-15 of us that are on this M2 subforum that talk on a daily basis.

I feel like we all have to meet up Munich or something. That would be awesome when we finally have these cars in our possession (well potentially. An F80 is not quite out of the question).

A mass meet up would be brilliant! There's no factory collection for UK owners but it's not a long flight to Munich!

I'm with you on the F80 still, I know for a fact that kids are a big reality for me and my wife in the next year, and I'm wondering about rear facing child seats being a complete nightmare in a small 2 door coupe

Seriously I think that we are more versed on what this car will actually be than the various car magazines. And it would definitely be cool to if we could all get together in Germany.

Makes sense ? Not sure whether they will go that radical, but never say never. Try to find the lines on the pictures. In a few weeks or months we can compare whether they fooled us.

Beautiful today, sun is shining, car is mint clean, sunroof open and found a new favourite group of settings with lovely sound without it all being too twitchy in the cold and wet. Really loving it.

I can still see a manual M2 at some point. Lots will depend on how many of the ? features make it, CF roof? Bonnet bulge? Bespoke seats? Super wide fender flares?

I agree many uk forums are too quiet, I spend a lot of time in the F30 UK section, a very good laugh in there and its really just general car banter than F30 specific. Hop on over Colin.

It's not really for me to be honest, but at least with the F80, I'll know that I won't have to get rid of it because it's not big enough. To me, it comes down to how they'll price the M2. Let's say in theory it costs $52k starting. That's still $10k less than an F80, which is more than enough for me to put that into either another used car, or dump it into my 4Runner.

You can just drive to Munich in your M2 or M3. That would be an epic vacation! The only problem with the mass car pick up is that it'll probably be in 2016, whereas I won't be ready for one until 2017.

Yea no kidding. How many magazines do you see turning spy shots inside out by using Photoshop and trying to see where all the lines? That is some serious dedication!

Well since they went with it on the XM's and Scott already said there will be vents similar to the GT6, why not?

I updated the lines in the rear bumper picture. We had forgotten about the central horizontal line that runs all over the GT6 rear. Found it. Thanks to the snow and curves, we now "got the picture" of what's likely lying beneath the camo.

Very good point. And I expect the M2's to be even more radical.

Artemis drew this image up above.

Alright Artemis.... check out what I think I just realized.

There is a curved line MUCH higher up than what you drew up in black on the previous image. Could it be? Here, I showed the line, drew the two lines, and connected them.

IMO, there is clearly a line here as you can see that snow is more concentraed above the line than bellow the line.

This is the result of a slight increase in angle (relative to the ground), making it *slightly* less likely for snow to stick below the character line.

This is huge.

Looks VERY close to GT6. I've just convinced myself that this is it. Check out that line in the first image. It's very clearly the top of a vent!

Aretmis - just realized your updated image is now in accord with what I am saying here.

Holy god this is going to be awesome! I think we've got the vent issue figured out!

I'm with you on that one.. I noticed the very subtle line above the black line too, and it's identical looking to the GT6 concept...

Wow this car is going to be beastly!!

Adem1534, it appears that we were litterally "thinking along the same lines", check post #100 above to see my updated render.
Looks like it fits like a glove - think that it's spot on this time.

I think you guys are both spot on. Yet more cues we are getting even though there's camo all over it. I'm very impressed at this level of analysis

Yup, I had just glanced over it and only looked at the image with the sole black line on it. Funny we saw the exact same thing. Really think this is a breakthrough here.

I had just finished creating and uploading my own image which looks exactly like yours, but with reversed colors, before realizing yours was the same conclusion.

This is exciting.

EDIT: Just realized that I hadn't seen it because I saw it before you updated the post, and rather had the image up with the single black line. This is hilarious! Good work, partner

LOL at "thinking along the same lines"... I think we both might be going a little insane... I know I am
