If you are unfortunate enough to get them then replace the pads. Or have a shop chamfer them. That will help.

I know there is one aftermarket pad out there that reduces squeak.
I'm working with another to see what we can do soon: https://racingbrake.com/ Shawn |

I just replaced the factory brake pads on my 2019 M5 Competition with Porterfield Racing brake pads this past weekend. I simply couldn't take the obnoxious brake squeal any longer. Every time I took my car to BMW to see if they could help, they would hand me a BMW M Brake brochure saying the brake squeal was normal and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I was told to take the car up to a high speed and come to an aggressive stop to get rid of the brake dust. Sometimes the issue would be resolved for a very short period of time and then start up again. The only way to avoid brake squeal was to come to an abrupt stop whenever I needed to come to a full stop.
I wish I would have made the brake pad change much sooner. The car is so much more enjoyable to drive. The brake squeal is gone and the car comes to a smoother stop. When I test drove the car with the salesman, it was difficult to get the car to stop smoothly. I don't think every M5 has this issue and that some people either have a car with this issue or they don't. For those who have the issue with brake squeal and abrupt stops, I recommend trying new pads. Don't expect to get the same stopping power with the aftermarket pads. I don't track the car and the Portfield pads make day-to-day driving much more enjoyable. |

Next time dealer says it's normal show them this video and I quote: if the noise is temporary it's not a problem if the noise persists go to a dealership, per the guy that made the brakes, I dare bmw to argue against that |

But, like flanast, before I upgraded to carbon ceramics, I would have taken the BMW OEM pads any day for somebody throwing them out. Shawn |

Many running iSweep are reporting no noise and less dust.
