I guess one could fit a 265/35R19 (Mercedes) and 295/35R19 (Audi) combo on an M3/4
There's also a generic 265/35/19.

Interesting....

I guess we also have to wait for a comparison to the new Pilot Sport 4 S (PS4S) for the true test.

Guess you will be waiting 12 months for that then. There are others who need new tires in the meantime.

Luckily everyone can make their own decision, as did Honda when their new Honda Civic Type R, the most powerful front wheel drive in the world, setting the fastest lap time in its category on the Nürburgring track (7'50''63).

An amazing accomplishment. People often equate FWD with lesser performance, and to be a point it does sacrifice some performance, but mainly it offers a lesser driving experience for some.

However, consider the advances in suspension and chassis and tire capabilities whereas these were the below performance benchmarks of a decade ago. (these were e46 and 996 models)

7:47 - Porsche Gt3 RS (sport tyres)
7:50 - M3 CSL (sport tyres)
7:52 - GT3 (381hp)

No one would think "cheap performance" if you were driving around a 996 gt3 on OEM tires. But here we have a civic type r with more modern tires running equivalent-level times on a world class track.

Never before have we seen such performance-progression over ~1 decade.
