Handling with 295/285 tires?
What's up everyone.
Thinking of going 295r/285f. Anyone feel a difference in handling with that set up ? Thanks!

Yes, why?
I’m thinking of getting some Titan wheels that seem to be fairly popular for this model and they suggest that same setup. So curious too what adverse effect it has? Obviously BMW designed the car around a specific size for a reason, so not surprised changing that does have some consequences but really curious of what they are and how much? |

Unless you’re getting a wider wheel, changing stock tire on stock wheel from 285 to 295 will have zero effect in handling because all you will do is raise the sidewall a bit and might even reduce handling in that case. You want more grip get a wider wheel with wider tire.

I put spacers on and it decreases handling as well. Trying to find a solution to fill the wheel well without loosing the remarkable handling the new comps provide. Not planning on lowering the car either. This is my daily and I live in jersey. Jersey roads are horrible.

295/35 is like reducing the diff from 3.15 to 3.12 and 305/35 is like going from 3.15 to 3.09. Normally for performance you would want the opposite — a shorter (higher numerical) rather than a longer diff. But with the torque these motors make, especially when tuned, I doubt there would be much difference in acceleration. Have not seen any testing results.

step up to bigger rims to help a bit with handling, if you don't want to lower your car.
Generally the bigger the rim, the thinner the rubber, the better the handling. Also dinan suspension parts seemed to have good reviews about them. monoball. stronger bushings, etc. |

I'm running 285/295 on the new 789m I picked up. Love them way more than stock size. They fill the gap much better, provide more cushion, and protect the rim lip even more so.
You won't feel any change in handling and I wouldn't go to 305s as I've heard they rub under load by those who have run them and swapped back.

The only difference that I've felt is improved off the line traction. I'm running 285/35r20 and 295/35r20 Pilot Sport Cup 2 (240). The draggy below is an unprepped surface.

I just picked up a 2021 comp and I put 15f/12r spacers and I'm experiencing loss of traction cornering aggressively and vibration after 85mph. Want to find a solution to fill the wheel well without loosing performance around turns and obviously no vibration at high speed. Wondering if this is a alignment or balancing issue.

I have tested H&R 12/15 up to an indicated 164 mph without issue. Did you clean your hub surfaces? I periodically clean mine with a razor blade scraper.
