You'd assume that will happen. The old base was 560ps and the performance was 605ps so a similar increase would put it right onto the 650ps that the Urus has and of course we all know it is the same drivetrain.

Obviously you, Vic had a RS7 for a while which is all the same hardware as the last RS6 so you what they are like and you've had a whole bunch of AMGs and Ms but out of all of the brands Audi is the one that just completely fails to interest me at all after I've spent time around them. Before I spent about 2 years in and around a C5 RS6 (sedan) it was pretty much my dream car but it just wasn't a great car to take on a drive. They all just seem a bit artificial and try too hard without actually being engaging. The new one might be completely different but it seems much like the F10 -> F90 transition to me but with even less of a difference as they are both 4wd.

The performance version of this will be the car to replace my M5C when the time comes. I had a C7 and miss the utility of an estate. I think this looks awesome too - although the silver exterior trim needs swapping for black / carbon.
There were rumours that the performance version will get a hybrid transmission similar to the Panamera turbo S but given the standard has c600 bhp, I guess that jump would be too great and expect a re-tune of just the V8TT to c 650 for the RS6 performance. |

For me and this RS6- the drive feel and chassis/suspension will be the driver and of course the steering response. I have no doubt its 590/590 will deliver the speed and the exhaust is there like the RS7. What will kill me is if the tq steer is excessive. I didnt have that with my R8's and my 2nd RS7 but my first one (2014) really displayed such characteristics. I think Audi did fix the issue with my 2017 (enough). Another thing that drove me a bit crazy was the engine placement on the RS7; it was well over the front wheels. So again, Ill have to see how this RS6 drives and where the chassis is when Im engaging in higher speed big bends and sharp turns. Its all good talk right now as I hear the car is almost a year out for me.

I spoke with Lemetier about this and he said that the C7 was very sensitive to torque steer depending if it was on steel or air suspension and wheel alignment. Agree about the engine placement too and the effect on handling. Audi cars to me just feel like a front wheel drive car with an absolute load of forward traction and that includes the RS3s I've driven which of course are east-west but simply have the suspension tuned that way.

I agree with points made here but the best was "I want an rs6 ...I really want an rs6"
Honestly I'm in the same camp. You want what you can't have so I have drooled like the rest of you over the c6/7 variants and now that we actually can order one I'm in. Worry being the rs7 I found the ride quality harsh to the m5 but I'm also one that likes the base m5 comfort vs the comp model so with air ride hopefully it isn't an issue. Biggest plus for me on the rs6 vs m5 is the exterior look, rs6 much more aggressive and that ass! also the paint on my prior Audi's far superior to the m5. Its been discussed here but the depth of color and quality of paint used on the f90 is subpar for the price point. (Did a quick hand wash yesterday and was looking much closer at the paint so I'm fixated on it at the moment) Love the m5 enough that I won't have to jump into the first allocation for an rs6 but I'm fairly certain it will happen next year at some point for me...if I can get my hands on one of course! |

Sadly the RS6 wont lease well as its an.... RS. The current Sportback RS5 and coupe which competes with the M3/M4 segment leases like shit. 36 months at 10k is 51% or around there and a MF well over 2. Whereas in its prime, the F8X had 36/10k residual over 60% and MF's in the 1's. If you want Audi you will need to buy.... even R8's lease like crap.

I almost had a current gen C7 RS6 Avant. I just did not purchase it, because I fell in love with the W213 E63 S, and then the beloved M5 F90. And I can say I have 0 regrets. But now that Audi has really upped the game (the new C8 A6 interior is drop dead gorgeous), and the chassis is probably pretty epic, I am ready to make the move. |

Gearing, weight, and how the power gets put down will also play a factor here in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time.

I don't understand why a sedan version won't be offered; there's hardly a market here for wagons given the SUV obsession.

I believe the quintessential version of the RS6 is in Avant form. And Audi knows it's not going to be a volume seller here in the US. Thus, only doing custom order has limited drawback for them. Also, I don't believe there will be a RS6 in sedan form, even in Europe.

Love it. I haven't even received my M5 yet and I'm lusting after the new RS6 and upcoming RS7. No regret choosing the M5 but have a feeling I'll add an Audi sooner or later.

More power? how many modded Dual clutches outside of UGR lamboes and built GTRs do you see taking 1500 plus hp? Autos have been doing it for years.

There must be a philosophical differences when it comes to design road cars between the different manufacturers. Audi have won Le Mans, just as Mercedes won F1, it's not like they don't know how to design cars that handles well or drives well. Audi have always gone with engine over hang/front heavy RS cars (except the R8), it's almost like Audi assumes we all can't drive so it's safer to make cars that understeers.
