How to "Fast Forward Tracks"

I recall reading a member having the same complaint about the 2 Series audio system in that there was no way to skip to certain parts of songs or tracks like the E90/E92. Good news is I stumbled across the solution: there are two arrow buttons located above the CD/DVD eject button (or far right of the preset button) that if held down will fast forward through tracks on your IPod or USB device.

Only sad part is that this feature is not steering wheel mounted like the E90/E92.

Now if only I could figure out how to pause a track while it's playing, from idrive, the panel, or the steering wheel.

Is there a way?

Good question however I don't remember being able to do this on my E92. I'll play around and see if this is an option.

Exactly. Pushing the radio "power" button will pause/mute any song.

Thanks guys. I thought that would shut down the whole entertainment system and then need a few seconds to come back up, but it's instantaneous and works perfectly.

Any leads on being able to click next as you would on the center console thing from the steering wheel? I had this on my 1 but as the steering wheel layout changed it no longer seems to be an option. Ive had the same complaint on my dad's 11' 550i since he got it.

I have been switch tracks using the I-Drive controller. I do miss having that steering wheels functionality. Would prefer that over cruise control...
