Joining the club...

After much deliberation, and many hours reading many things, predominantly this forum, I will be joining the F30 club come early September.

Only just ordered and could have got end of (maybe mid) July delivery, but for the sake of a month I thought I'd stick to September which is what I'd always planned.

So down to spec, 335i, sports auto, Mineral grey, black Dakota and lots of options (most importantly HUD and adaptive susp.) You'll be glad to hear this forum has sold me on a good half of my options, and also solved many dilemmas, so cost aside(!) I am very grateful for all your collective posts.

It will be my first BMW and I'm coming from a 2.5 ltr Focus ST so it will be interesting (in a good way I trust!).

I test drove a 335i and it was good, didn't give it too many beans, but it was sufficient to confirm my opinions and decision.

So, the countdown begins....

PS. anyone want to buy a Focus ST?!

Good man...another petrol head with 6 of the best cylinders money can buy. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do

Welcome to the club mate. I went Mineral Grey and Black Dakota also, an understated colour that's for sure.

Thanks all!

Interior wise, I did toy with the coral red, and saw a 4 series coupe with coral red in the showroom but it wasn't as red as I expected. It may have been the showroom lighting and I tried to see a hardtop in outside lighting conditions but didn't get round to it in the end. The seed of doubt was sown and I opted for black.

I think I've worn the online configurator out over the last year!

Nice car, didn't fancy a 4 series gc then? Or can't you get a decent discount on those yet?

Welcome and good choice!

only 3 months to wait, and at least when we're lamenting the passing of summer you will have a new toy to enjoy!

Thanks again, I've got my winter wheels research / purchasing options to keep me busy for a little while!

Didn't look too much at the 4GC tbh, it would definitely fit the bill and it's a cracking looking car. Also, the saloon vs hatchback was probably my biggest quandary, but with the slightly higher starting 'official' price and the lower discounts (seemed to be roughly about 10% 4GC vs 20% on the 3) it made a difference of about £9k which I couldn't justify.

I have a production week listed as week 32 (early August), but I don't know how accurate that would be this early on, something to think about though. Just got to sort out the departure of the ST now, I have really enjoyed it, it's been great fun but I don't think I'll regret it
