Lost the BMW cover of my wheel

Just lost this small piece today.

Is it supposed to be removed from the wheel? How much does it cost? Is it under warranty?

It is removable. It is not expensive as it's just a piece of plastic with a BMW sticker on it. It would not be under warranty but I wouldn't be surprised if your dealer hooks you up for no charge if you have a good relationship with them.

If you did buy the part on your own all you do is push it in and it will snap in place. I have never heard of these falling off on their own. Possibly somebody who wanted a spare part or souvenir removed it? It's easy to pop it off with a screwdriver but I don't see how it could fall off on its own.

ok! It's kinda weird but I don't think someone tried to steal it, there is no mark around the cover. I will drop by the dealership to see if they have some.

Wow I never would have thought they are stickers! What about the roundel on the front end? Also what about the steering wheel?

It's probably still a raised sticker though (attached with extra sticky adhesive) the way the ///M labels are on the wheels? I haven't gotten my car back from ED so can't look at it in person yet but I have plenty of these left over from my E90.

Either way, it is a cheap plastic piece and shouldn't be an issue to replace.

Never seen or heard of a center cap on a BMW wheel falling out on it's own. Even when the wheels are re-finished the caps snaps pretty tight back in. If it wasn't taken, the metal retaining ring on the inside of the cap could have possibly failed and popped out causing the cap to fall out. Try and get the dealer to give you a replacement for free telling him it must have been defective from the factory.

Lost one today, dealer replaced it N/C. They do fit kind of loose, you might want to wrap some tape around the inside so they fit snug.

I don't believe it is actually. I had a custom one-off made for my father's 2003 330ci and they sanded down the raised parts before repainting. Granted ours could be totally different but at least on the old one it was all molded plastic.
