M4 wheels (aftermarket)

I have placed and order with HRE for some 19" P101's for my new M4 but they can't fabricate them until they physically measure off an existing M4. They said they have to wait until one comes into their local dealership to do so. I know that they expected to be at the US dealers on or before June 21. Any suggestions on how I can help them? Or just patience as usual?

Patience. I am ordering the same but doing 20" once my car arrives from ED in Oct. Satin black against mineral white.

Mine is Alpine white and satin black. Great minds. I'll get the H&R sport springs ASAP.

I envy both of you, can I ask how much the wheels cost you?

I really want some HRE s101, p101 or BBS FI if I decide to keep the car for the long term

HREs were the best mod I made to my e92. I'm definitely getting them again for the F80. not sure if I'm gonna stick with the P40S wheels again, or pony up the extra cash for the P101. tinted brushed finish for me.

It is really not a practical purchase but I hate the wheels BMW has been coming out with. I think design as of late has just hit a wall with manufacturers serving multiple categories in multiple industries (ie. car, web, phone interfaces, etc.) where they just can't be everything to everyone anymore unless you are in the ultra-luxury category. But BMW takes the cake in wheel design fail of the year and was obviously not funded as well to keep base entry prices down. This is my only complaint though.

HREs are no joke. My question is are they really worth double from what you could get a set of MORR wheels? I'm no wheel expert and obviously you're paying for the brand but I'm wondering if the quality is that much better. $10k is obscene for wheels. I thought my MORR wheels at $4k were a lot lol

On a side note, I have a friend who manages a wheel repair show that also sells wheels and offered to have some wheels custom made for me at a good price and mentioned that there are in,y a few places that forge the wheels for most of the major wheel makers in the us. It's not the first time I've heard that either, although I'm sure all the wheel companies would tell you hat their wheels are more special than the next guy. But if they're made at the same shop...

I learned my lesson about spending so much on wheels. I'll never do it again. With that said, there are a lot of deep pockets with holes in them here, so I suppose it comes with the territory. My subjective opinion is that MORR offers better styling than HRE.

The P101's look sexy on a Porsche though, but still not my type of wheel.

Get over the P's already, you are turning into an old man before your years, not that you have many left.

Clan, Porsche's are evil. Play more with bikes.

Freude am fahren.

BBS FI or bust

But stock rims are great for the $ IMO. For the weight savings, FIs more expensive than quality caviar.

You are most of the way to a s1000rr. Or a significant start on a 509 for your kid.

And Lups, P-cars are not evil. They are fun.

They get in my way, and they will be banned as soon as I need a day job. As for the wheels, i'm now thinking of upgrading them just to piss off the spouse who keeps reading about my car finding flaws. I swear, nothing in the world is as annoying. I haven't cooked for two days just to make sure he also suffers.

Hey,

The best bet for an accurate fit is to wait for an actual measurement. On our end we have been lining everything up so once we get an M4 measured we can begin machining, the only thing that will vary will be the offset.

There are ways to calculate by comparing previous OE sizes/offsets to new OE sizes as we had to do with the F15 X5 more recently and the 650 Gran Coupe a little over a year ago.

Congrats on your new M4's and enjoy in good health.

Best Regards,

Don't worry. My car and another one will be here in the next few days. HRE is the first stop. They will have the specs very shortly.
