HELP trunk locked w/ funtional battery
So long sotry short after removing my old subwoofer i might have caused some wire to short circuit and I smelled smoke from the trunk light and trunk hatch(lock mechanism) wires and I cut both of them... Then unplugged the battery and took fuse #61(trunk and glovebox light) then I closed the trunk and now it won't open. The battery is completly funtional, its just the wires for the trunk latch that are cut that are messing everything up, in fact I can't lock ir unlock any door with the fob I have to do it manually through the keyhole in the drivers door. I've tried using the key in the trunk and still nothing and I can't access the emergecy latch from the rear seats. Any ideas on how to open the trunk door. Its late right now but tomorrow I might try taking out the fuse for the trunk latch wires hopefully that helps me bypass the system.
So in conclusion Battery is charged Fuse 61 is removed Harness for trunk light and trunk hatch are cut Keyhole will not turn in unlock direction Dahsboard says the trunk is open BTW whenver I said hatch i meant trunk actuator, the wire to the trunk actuator is cut... |

Key should open the trunk no matter what. It take some force to get it open at first.
I had some what similar problem. My trunk actuator broke so I used key to open my trunk for 2 weeks. After that I broke the key module(module is made of plastic) on trunk so I had no way to get into the trunk. Had to take it to indy shop to get to trunk and switch out actuator. Anyways back to the topic Do you have cold weather package? cold weather package have little space in the middle to get to the trunk. Try turning the key with force If not you have to remove your rear seat to get to your trunk to pull emergency lever. |

I am sure you have done it, but make sure you didn't blow more fuses that could effect the CLS.

Given that you've cut wires, not sure if any of this will work, but there are two interesting methods in that post: 1 - jumping the actuator manually behind the glovebox 2 - getting access to the emergency cable through the license plate light

Man you really messed up every option.
Man you really messed up every option.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986670 You are probably going to have to break the tail light if none of the above work and fish for the emergency trunk release. |

I think I'll fish for the emergency release through the license plate light. But this morning my dad went to go open with the keyhole and was successful , i emptied out the trunk but closed it again... i know really stupid i thought the problem was fixed, guess I'll have to wait another day at least theres nothing left in the trunk |

Tie a string to the emergency release when you get it open. |
