ok team... I have a decision to make. my wife and I have paid off the suv and the e90 330xi. both are running great..(just bought new tires and brakes for both)
Anyway.. time to add a convertible to the fleet. Max prices is $55k.. needs... sporty, room for a weekend getaway and room for golf club in back. We are torn between the 2011, 2012 335is or the 2012 650i Thoughts? Plus or minuses? My initial thought... the 335is should be pretty fun.. but not a HUGE change from my 330xi... the 650 is damn sexy.. but may not be as sporty. Regards |

I vote 650 if there are not too many miles. You might be looking near 50-60K miles for a 2012 in that price range, but it looks great. I have yet to test drive one so ...GL!
I realize golf clubs may not fit, but what about a 2004-05 Porsche 911 turbo with low mileage (20-30K mi) ?

Of the two options I would go with the 650. I'd skip the 335is because you already have an e90.
I'd hit this in a second: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...67235143&Log=0 M235 would also be intriguing.

Why is this even a question???
Not even a comparison. You should be asking M3 Convertible vs 650 Drop. Then it's a hard decision. Otherwise 650. Done.

650i. I still wish I got that instead of my 335i.

i dont know about the soft top. i think it makes the car so ugly. if softtop is your thing or if it doesn't bother you, then 650i convert all the way

Honestly, the 335is is a different car from the regular 335i. 20 more HP and 70 more lb-ft of torque. Between it and the 1M, its the best version of the N54 turbo you can get. It certainly will have much more of a small-car/roadster feel than the 650i, even though it is by no means a roadster. Nimble, awesome exhaust, instantaneous torque.
The 650i, depending on the trim, will offer more hp. But its also a bigger car. It may have more trunk space than the 335is, though...I haven't compared the two. |

I vote 335is.. and not just cause I have one haha.. I am the biggest BMW fan but instead of the 650 I'd have a 911.. I dunno not a big fan of big cars.

I really don't like the nose of this car with the non-sport bumper...
Looks better like this... but still not my cup of tea. I like the front end of the e92/e93 better

very interesting.... the 911 would be the first choice... but No room for clubs or anything more than an overnight bag. Second choice... might have been the C7 corvette if they were a bit cheaper in convertible. $75k for the 2014!
I still have questions regarding a first year model year bmw.. like the 650. I may need to research their specific issues.. |
