Windshield Wiper Fluid Not Coming Out??
I have a 2010 E92 and the wipers move when I try to clean the windshield, but nothing comes out and there is no sound. Fluid is 100% full. It doesn't sound like it's even trying to come out.
I wanted to check the fuse but I don't see fuse 48 in my glove box even though that's what the diagram says is the fuse for the wiper fluid. Please see pics. As you can see in the 3rd picture, I pointed an arrow to where the diagram said fuse #48 would be and nothing is there. WTF? |

Did it ever work before? It doesn't even sound like the pump is going at all?

Sounds like nothing at all is happening when i pull the lever, but the wipers do move. Zero pump noise, so it can't be clogged. BMW dealer has been the only people to ever fill it. |

The pump could have failed. If it did its not that difficult of a DIY to perform.

Try this link, it will show how to get to the windshield washer reservoir. I used this DIY to get to the reservoir on my son's 328xi as the filter was plugged. Wasn't to big a deal, biggest pain was getting the tire off. While you have it out, it would be a good time to clean the filter. Do watch the filter as it is rather small.
You may have to remove the side marker light to aid in removal of the pump, if so make sure to tie a length of string or twine to the wire in case it falls down into the fender, you can pull it back out. You can remove the pump in order to replace it. Also, make sure to clean the filter with soapy water and wash the reservoir out with clean water (I poured hot water down the filler tube and let it run out the pump opening) before you assemble the pump back into the reservoir. All in all took about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to fill with quality washer fluid and test before completely putting the car back together. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...luid+reservoir

Still an issue after changing fuse. Looks like the pump is bad and needs replacing. Dealer quoted $700. I hate this piece of shit car. It's not the money, but I hate when this stupid cheap breaks. Such a hassle and BMW service sucks donkey balls.

Pretty easy DIY and eBay has the pumps cheap. Took me <1 hour you'd probably have to eventually do it anyway. These things are known to develop cracks and leak.

Yes, and fender liner. The rear part of the fender liner uses push pins to secure the liner to the fender. I'd pick some extra up from the dealer as the pins are usually lost after you push it in to release it from the fender. I think there are 3.

It's most likely the filter and not the pump. Not a bad job. I had to clean mine last spring.

I paid 30.00 online for an oem pump, plus 30 minutes of labor. If there is no sound when you activate the washer, it is the pump for sure. These pumps are noisy, you should hear it when in use. Don't pay anyone to do this for you, it's super easy to diy. Good luck!!
